Stayed two nights and the Dorothy was perfect. Room was updated, clean, quiet and we loved the coffee bar. Huge shout out to Troy who got us checked in, he was an absolute delight after a day of travel and very knowledgeable and friendly even late at night. Loved having access to the hot pools at the Canoe and the Otter during our stay. Would absolutely recommend.

We enjoyed our overnight stay. A note, we did have to check in and out and access the hot pool across the street in the canoe hotel but it was worth it as the outdoor pool is beautiful and relaxing. We were awoken to chainsaws due to them clearing space and we saw some controlled fires taking place, this wasn’t an issue for us but if you are wanting to sleep in make note! Personally, leaving our room to the beautiful smell of bonfire was a positive! The front desk was incredibly sweet and caring and our room was clean and comfortable. The shower also passed the test, great water pressure and as a tall lady I appreciate it when I don’t need to bend down to wash my hair! The coffee pour over situation was a special treat for me, a coffee lover. The area is away from crowds but next to a late night gas station with A&W plus the cafe/restaurant in the canoe hotel looked beautiful. We will certainly be back!

I highly recommend the Dorothy Motel. With a second floor room we had high ceilings, a balcony and a view. The free bus pass made traveling easy but it is walkable from the town centre. They provided a nice selection of coffee and tea. The hot pools across the street at the Canoe exceeded expectations and shouldn’t be missed. The Rocky Mountain Soap products were a plus. The air conditioner was noisy but I turned it off. I would definitely stay here again.

The Dorothy is a quiet little hotel on the edge of town. Rooms are all updated and clean and comfortable. A neat court yard in the middle. That could use some attention. It's a 20 plus minute walk to down town is not to bad but the bus runs a regular route all day.

Self check in on app is awesome. Usually I am able to park in front of my room. Very spacious and clean. I vote this place for the no.1 place to stay in Banff.

Location is nice when you want to near the mountains but still close enough to the downtown centre. Our room is adjacent to our parking and accessible. We used the app to check in and out and as a mobile key card. Still, you can go to Hotel Canoe to pick up the actual key cards, the coffee (c/o Sudden Sally) and roam tickets. Room is clean and nice, all the basic necessities are covered. Soaps, shampoo and conditioner are all from Rocky Mountain Co. Will stay again next time.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this motel. It is clearly a renovated old motel that has been turned into a modern, clean and chic accommodation. It’s quiet and allows you all the amenities from the Canoe hotel. The staff at the Canoe hotel take care of your check in and give you whatever speciality teas and coffees you want each day. I would definitely stay here again.
